Established in 1999 Watervale Retreat has 4 self contained cabins. Mike and Petra purchased the property June 2015 and ceased operations while the cabins underwent extensive refurbishments, including new paint, flooring, bedding, linen and other new furniture. Re-opening in October 2015, we continued with more cabin renovations, upgrading the kitchen and minor upgrades in the bathrooms from Dec to Feb 2016.
The BBQ area was also upgraded with new lighting and a new park safe BBQ installed late 2015.
Late 2016 saw more upgrades with new 32″ Samsung LED televisions and new DVD players.
Early 2017 completed stage 3; upgrading the Balustrades to all units and adding a BBQ cover and light over the BBQ.
And of course we like to make sure that some of the linen gets upgraded every year for maximum guest comfort.
Continuing the tradition of Watervale Retreat, the animal park has seen a resurgence of animals which now has deer, alpacas and emus and of course some chickens for those guests who wish to upgrade their breakfast, we include freshly laid eggs. However our chickens are in a different paddock for their safety as the alpacas don’t seem to like them too much.
Sometimes you will even see our neighbouring sheep, and local wildlife including kangaroos, occasional wild deer, possums and an assortment of birds including Kookaburras, lorikeets, finches, white winged choughs, magpies and even the occasional owl just to name a few; all enjoying the natural environment at Watervale Retreat.
Between September and May (other months by appointment) we offer our guests a chance to feed the Emus and Alpacas (our Deer are too generally too shy) at 5 pm daily. Please note however, that depending on the age of the child, we may request small children stay outside the gate for their safety.
